Internal - LTE-Cellular SMT Antenna
The PA series ceramic PIFA antennas eliminate the need for tooling and NRE fees inherent in traditional antenna designs. This means the range is available "off the shelf" at any quantity. Features such as SMT pads for reflow soldering, and use of a simple matching circuit on the front end allow the antennas to be tuned quickly on the customer side during integration. This speeds up the design cycle dramatically. These antennas should be strictly mounted only on the short end of the main device board PCB, without metal components around the antenna, linked to the module through a 50 Ohm CPW. The ideal ground-plane length is 107mm but the antenna can still work with high efficiency at much shorter lengths (see application note), and compared to other antenna technologies deliver not only superior efficiency but also best in industry TRP/TIS results.
The newest PA series antenna, the patent pending PA.700A is designed to work with highest efficiency not only at 4G LTE 700 MHz band but also at the 2G/3G 850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100 bands. This wide-band antenna functions equally well for GSM, EDGE, GPRS, CDMA, UMTS, HSPA.
