SAN DIEGO, CA - December 13, 2011 - Taoglas Limited (www.taoglas.com), the leading provider of antenna solutions to the M2M market announced today that VGo Communications, the leader in robotic telepresence, selected Taoglas' PA.700.A "Viking" antenna for its innovative VGo telepresence robot. The VGo is a productivity improvement solution that enables a person, to be present at a distant location without physically being there, including the ability to move about the distant location. The PA.700.A Viking antenna was chosen for its superior LTE performance, an average 65% efficiency, its small form factor, PCB surface mounting, and multi-band global cellular coverage.

The PA.700.A antenna is a vital part of the wireless system that allows the VGo to move around inside a facility, in addition to providing two-way audio and video to the remote person who controls the VGo from their computer. This multi-band cellular antenna covers all worldwide cellular bands from 700 MHz to 960 MHz and 1710 MHz to 2170 MHz for GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, DCS, PCS, UMTS, HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE and LTE. It is delivered on tape and reel for surface mounting, saving on assembly costs and delivering greater performance consistency. Since no customization is required, development times are dramatically reduced. Signal loss is also minimized by a simple 50-Ohm CPW transmission line on the short end of the device board directly from the module to the antenna feed.
