Taoglas® EDGE Connect™ Out of the Box Set Up

EC.20 EDGE Connect Series Button and LED Behaviour

The EDGE Connect has two buttons with LEDs on the front face of the enclosure as shown in the diagram below.

Power Button Behavior

The device powers on when the Power button is pressed. The User LED will be solid white while the device is initializing. The User LED will then flash white three times (Cadence: 100ms on, 100ms off, 3 times) to indicate that the device has successfully initialized.

The time between initializing and being initialized is minimal.
When powered on, a quick button press will slowly blink the User LED red to indicate the battery percent. Each blink represents 20% charge e.g. three flashes means the device is roughly on 60% battery.

1 flash – 20% battery – (Cadence: 1000ms on, 500ms off, 1 time)
2 flashes – 40% battery – (Cadence: 1000ms on, 500ms off, 2 times)
3 flashes – 60% battery – (Cadence: 1000ms on, 500ms off, 3 times)
4 flashes – 80% battery – (Cadence: 1000ms on, 500ms off, 4 times)
5 flashes – 100% battery – (Cadence: 1000ms on, 500ms off, 5 times)

When powered on, holding the button for 10s or more powers of the device forcefully (hardware power down).

User Button Behaviour

When powered on, a quick button press will flash the User LED white(Cadence: 500ms on, 0ms off, 1 time) once and initiate a forced DMS connection.

When powered on, a button press greater than 3 seconds will trigger a location sample.

LED Button Behaviour

Only User LED, USB PWR LED 1 and Charging LED are visible while the device is within the final enclosure.

User LED
When the device is trying to obtain a location fix, either triggered from the user button or a scheduled location sample, the User LED will blink yellow every second (Cadence: 100ms on, 900ms off, indefinitely)  while trying to obtain the fix. If a fix is found, the User LED will flash yellow three times (Cadence: 100ms on, 100ms off, 3), if a fix isn’t found, the User LED will be solid red for 3 seconds (Cadence: 3000ms on, 0ms off, 1 time).

USB PWR LED 1 – When USB power is applied, this LED is solid green.

Charging LED – When USB power is applied and the battery is not at full charge, this LED is solid red to indicate the battery is charging.
