Dermot co-founded Taoglas with Ronan Quinlan in 2003 and since then the duo have successfully grown the company into the dominant player in the IoT antenna and RF market that it is today. Having worked in technology sales since graduating from University College Dublin, Dermot moved to Taiwan where he met Ronan. It was here they co-founded Taoglas. Subsequently, Dermot moved back to his native Ireland to set up Taoglas HQ and global sales. After great success, he moved to San Diego to set up Taoglas USA operations in 2011 where he continues to remain.
Dermot is a recognized thought leader in the IoT industry and is also accredited with creating “The best IoT party” and networking event every year at MWC Americas. When not selling Taoglas, Dermot enjoys outdoor activities as well as spending time with his young family.
Ronan is a co-founder of Taoglas and has over 20 years’ experience in the electronics industry, between Asia and Europe. Ronan’s expertise in this area covers a broad spectrum, with a key focus on production, quality processes, and antenna and wireless product roadmap.
Ronan operates out of Taoglas headquarters in Ireland and serves as co-CEO of Taoglas Group. He has overall responsibility for the Taoglas EMEA region, and Taoglas Asia operations, where he spends a number of months each year.
Melanie has a career spanning 30 years as a HR Practitioner and holds an MA in HR Management and Employment Law. Melanie is responsible for overseeing operations for EMEA and combines this with her passion for creating a diverse and talented workforce.
Overseeing operations enables Melanie the opportunity to look at new and innovative ways to connect their research and development function with the overall business strategy in the world of IoT, developing Taoglas into the professional International IoT organization it is today. Melanie attributes Taoglas’ success to having a clear vision and being able to deliver a total antenna and RF solution for wireless.
Patrick Mc Hale
Patrick has been instrumental in enhancing the Taoglas corporate brand and shaping the Strategic Roadmap while also having held responsibility for Taoglas expansions into China and leading the acquisition of ThinkWireless.
Dennis is responsible for all aspects of America’s business, including sales, marketing, customer support, engineering, and operations. Prior to joining Taoglas, Kish served as President of the Fiber business at Google, where his team brought a triple-play (internet, TV, and telephone) service to market across the US.
Kish’s general management experience also includes roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Vice President and General Manager of ST-Ericsson’s Connectivity & Peripherals business unit, and Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Connected Entertainment Business at NXP Semiconductors. Kish holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University.
Tim has been with Taoglas for over 8 years and currently serves as VP of North American Sales. Tim is responsible for managing the Sales strategy for Taoglas USA and works with his team to ensure that key clients are managed effectively and efficiently. Tim has over 20 years’ experience within the electronics industry and has been recognized as an industry leader in the M2M/IoT space since 2002.
Under Tim’s leadership, Taoglas USA has grown ten fold since 2010 and has become the market leader for IoT antennas, RF services, and RF cable assemblies.
Jeff Shamblin is Vice President of Engineering, he is responsible for the direction of all engineering and R&D activities. He previously worked at Ethertronics, where he was responsible for projects related to active antenna techniques directed towards commercial communication systems.
Shamblin holds a BSc in Physics and has completed post-graduate studies in radar systems. He has 82 issued patents related to antenna technology and communication systems. Among his many accomplishments, he led a small R&D group to develop a band-switching antenna to cover wide LTE frequency bands for laptop applications and also helped develop the first beam-steering antenna system to a Wi-Fi laptop.
Daniel Ruane is the Head Of Group IT for Taoglas. Dan joined Taoglas in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in IT & software development. Dan is responsible for developing and implementing Taoglas’s information technology strategy and for defining and delivering continuous improvement and change management across the group.
Dan accredits all of the major IT project successes in Taoglas to the calibre of his excellent team. “We are a seriously motivated bunch of individuals who continuously strive to push the envelope forward and try new things” Dan works in Taoglas Head Quarters office located in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland.
Joanna has been part of the Taoglas team for more than 8 years and is an expert in IoT business operations. As the VP of Operations in our Taiwan division, Joanna is responsible for guiding the team to meet tight deadlines and deliver outstanding results. Joanna joined Taoglas in a sales capacity before being quickly promoted to Operations Manager, becoming the General Manager of the Taiwan team in 2013.
Joanna’s interest in procurement, production and quality control and logistics management was the driving force behind advancing to higher education in this field. Her passion for service excellence ensures that she motivates her team to provide a tailored service to match the needs of our customers.
Peter joined the Taoglas team in 2011 in the role of Technical Sales and Project Management. His first two years were spent developing this role in the areas of worldwide project management, custom design development and expanding on standard Taoglas antenna development. During this time Peter was instrumental in sustaining a stable project management team and developing business opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2013, Peter transferred to a Technical Sales and Business Development role where he developed a distribution network in the region and held many major APAC accounts. Peter’s strong understanding of Taoglas product applications, quality requirements, production and supply chain management, make him an integral part of the Taoglas team.
