How We Test

Whether you're preparing for carrier certification or troubleshooting performance issues, our testing services catch problems before they derail your launch.

Why RF Testing Can’t Wait

Most RF problems surface during certification testing, or worse, after launch - when they cost the most to fix.

Poor performance means PCB redesigns, retooling, and 6-12-month launch delays. GPS interference that passes FCC testing but fails in the field. Antenna tuning that worked on your development board but fails in production.

The solution? Test early, test properly, and test with experts who know what carriers and regulators actually require.

Why Cellular Pre-Certification is Critical

Cellular or GNSS? We Test Both.

Different wireless technologies require different testing approaches. Here’s what matters for each:

Cellular Testing

Why It Matters: To sell a cellular IoT device, you need carrier certification. US and Japanese carriers have strict Total Radiated Power (TRP) and Total Isotropic Sensitivity (TIS) requirements.

The Risk: Devices that fail these tests face expensive redesigns and delayed launches. Testing early reduces risk and catches integration issues before they become costly problems.

What We Test: TRP, TIS, failure mode mitigation, and passive antenna tuning for LTE, CAT-M1, NB-IoT, 5G, and legacy technologies.

GNSS Testing

Why It Matters: Standard GNSS (meter-level accuracy) vs. high-precision GNSS (centimeter-level accuracy) have different antenna and testing requirements. High-precision applications require active antennas with integrated LNAs.

The Risk: Devices can pass FCC/CE testing but still have poor GPS performance due to interference from other components. Standard unintentional radiator testing isn't sufficient.

What We Test: Acquisition & tracking sensitivity, field testing in controlled environments, and real-world validation for both standard and high-precision GNSS.

Taoglas helps qiio® receive Network Optimized Certification from AT&T®

qiio needed AT&T carrier certification to enter the U.S. market with their q200 Guardian IoT device, but their initial antenna selection failed testing, costing valuable time. Without internal RF expertise to navigate carrier requirements, qiio turned to Taoglas for antenna selection, integration support, and pre-certification testing in our anechoic chambers.

The result: the world's first Microsoft Azure Sphere device to receive AT&T Network Optimized Certification and field performance that exceeds mobile phone coverage in challenging areas.
