ABOUT THE SERIES

Taoglas Storm Series

The Storm series is a range of ultra-low profile, rugged, and waterproof external antennas designed for global telematics and IoT applications. At just 31mm high, Storm antennas deliver best-in-class performance across cellular MIMO, Wi-Fi®, and high-accuracy multi-constellation GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou). Traditionally, achieving high efficiency in 5G/LTE and Wi-Fi® required bulky dome antennas over 80mm in height—Storm changes that.

Engineered for permanent installation with an aerodynamic, vandal-resistant housing, the Storm series provides global connectivity across wide cellular bands. It’s available in five configurations, including options with Iridium support and custom cabling, making it a highly flexible solution for demanding environments. With IP67 waterproofing, high-isolation low-loss cables, and no ground plane requirement, Storm is the most compact, high-performance antenna solution on the market.

Integration

Proper installation of the Storm series antenna is essential to maintain the waterproof integrity of the vehicle or enclosure and to ensure optimal performance across all antenna elements.

Typical Integration Steps:

1. Mounting Location: The Storm antenna is secured via a 20 mm diameter threaded mounting stud. In many cases, it can be installed in the vehicle's existing OEM antenna location. If this is not available, a 22 mm hole will need to be drilled in the roof or enclosure.

2. Surface Preparation: Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly to ensure a secure seal. Route the cables through the hole.

3. Antenna Placement: Remove the 3M adhesive backing from the base of the antenna. Position the antenna in the desired orientation and press firmly into place.

4. Securing the Antenna: From inside the vehicle or enclosure, slide the washer and nut over the cable bundle and tighten to secure the antenna firmly.
